Private by design. Not even we can read it.
Chat, call and share with end-to-end encryption. No ads. No data selling. No metadata selling.
Free on Android. iOS is planned.
Anywhere in between
Unreadable. Even to us.
We built it so we can't read your messages.
Messages are encrypted on your phone and only decrypted on the phone that receives them. One-to-one chats use the Signal Protocol, and group chats use our own end-to-end encryption. We don't hold the keys, so there is nothing for us to hand over or sell.
What we handle

- Technical information needed to deliver messages, keep the service secure and fix bugs
What we never do

- Your metadata for sale, ever
- Ads or ad tracking

Questions
Is Pralaap free?+
Yes, it is free right now, with every feature in one app and no premium plan. In the future we may charge a very small maintenance fee (at most ₹2 per month) to cover security updates and servers.
Does Pralaap show ads?+
No. We never show ads.
When will the iOS version be available?+
We are working on it, but there is no release date yet.
Can you read my messages?+
No. Pralaap is end-to-end encrypted. One-to-one chats use the Signal Protocol, and group chats use our own end-to-end encryption system. Either way, only the people in the chat can read the messages. Even we, the developers, cannot read your chats or calls.
Do you collect or sell my data?+
We never sell your data. We only use basic technical information, such as your Android version, to improve the app.
How do I make a call?+
Open a chat and swipe left or right to start a voice or video call.
I changed phones. Can I recover my chats?+
Only if you turned on chat backup before logging out. Without a backup, chats cannot be recovered. This also applies when you reinstall the app.
